Our Beginning
A Rescue Sparks a Mission
Last Door Ministries was founded in Latin America in 2018 under the name Thrive Vision by Daniel Rojas. The story began when Daniel learned of six-year-old twin girls being trafficked. Through faith and coordination with local police, Daniel played a key role in securing their safety. Unable to forget what they had witnessed, the couple committed themselves to restoring the lives of those broken by human trafficking. This undertaking took shape with the creation of Thrive Vision and the Starfish House, providing these children with a home, a family, and a renewed future. This pivotal time laid the foundation for the mission to rescue and rebuild lives.
A Deeper Calling Emerges
The twins’ rescue in 2019 was more than a victory—it was a revelation. Determined to understand the crisis, Daniel consulted with the local chief of police, uncovering a chilling truth: child trafficking ranked among the nation’s top three criminal industries, alongside drug trafficking and money laundering. He learned that children as young as nine were exploited for fees up to $5,000. This knowledge transformed the Rojas family’s initial efforts into Last Door Ministries—a resolute commitment to combat child trafficking and abuse, rooted in faith and action.
Our Work
Since that defining start in 2018, Last Door Ministries has grown into a structured force for change in Latin America. We’ve developed a three-step program—rescue, restoration, and empowerment—implemented with law enforcement and partners to address sexual exploitation and organ trafficking. Starfish House remains the cornerstone, offering a safe, nurturing space where children heal and thrive. In the past year, we’ve supported over 100 children, helping them build futures grounded in spiritual strength, emotional well-being, academic progress, and professional potential. Our mission, sparked by one rescue, continues to expand with purpose and impact.
